Question

The opening of the new Kwalitaria outlet in Rotterdam required a major renovation. The owners of Kwalitaria Hesseplaats asked us to provide the lighting and audio. The entrepreneurial couple’s goal was an atmospheric, spacious business that would be a nice addition for local residents. At any time of the day and something for everyone. We made sure the lighting and audio were an optimal part of this experience.

Challenge

When designing the lighting plan, we had to consider several aspects. The front counters needed to be well lit for visibility and functionality. The kitchen requires functional lighting so that staff can work safely, accurately and comfortably. We also wanted to create a warm and cozy atmosphere for a good customer experience.

Finally, we developed an audio plan. We made sure with the audio that the sound was evenly distributed. This makes it possible for customers to enjoy the music and still hear each other clearly.

Result
We installed track rails in the middle of the cafeteria. Black rails and fixtures were chosen here so that they would not stand out through the dark ceiling. Also mounted in these rails are the Spottune Track speakers. To create a nice atmosphere, fixtures of 2700 Kelvin were chosen. Moreover, we went for a balance between decorative and technical lighting. The order counters are now superbly lit, ensuring efficient order processing. The kitchen is equipped with enough light to ensure the safety and comfort of the staff. The mood lighting contributes to an inviting and cozy atmosphere for visitors. This makes Kwalitaria Hesseplaats a place where people like to come for more than just a quick bite, but for a real experience.
