In the heart of Hulst, Zeeland, the new restaurant Family Hulst was officially opened, a place where families can enjoy a culinary experience together in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Lixero had the honor of handling the complete lighting of this beautiful restaurant from A to Z.

Atmospheric restaurant lighting

The main goal of this project was to create atmospheric and flexible lighting that perfectly matched Family Hulst’s culinary concept. Since the restaurant caters to cozy families, the lighting needed to be versatile and easily adaptable.

Our team of lighting designers went to work designing a custom lighting plan, with an emphasis on atmospheric lighting that can be flexibly adjusted. We used a combination of fixtures from our own production and quality brands we work with. This mix not only ensures a good look, but also energy efficiency and sustainability, two important pillars.

Challenge

DALI lighting

For Family Hulst, we chose a lighting system with DALI control(Digital Addressable Lighting Interface), an intelligent system that allows the lighting to be controlled wirelessly. The DALI control ensures that the light can be adjusted at any time based on the needs of the room and the time of day. We are currently coupling the DALI system with a program that automatically adjusts the lighting to the natural outdoor light. This ensures that the restaurant always has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, whether it is sunny or dark.

Result
From A to Z
In addition to the lighting plan, we also provided full lighting installation. Our skilled installers ensured flawless installation of the fixtures, using both pendant and recessed fixtures to match the different areas of the restaurant. For general lighting, we used energy-efficient track fixtures that provide good light distribution in the open areas. In the seating areas and above the tables, we placed decorative pendant fixtures to emphasize the atmosphere. Of course, emergency lighting was also installed in accordance with current safety standards so that both guests and staff can move safely through the building.
This project demonstrates what Lixero stands for: lighting from design to installation, completely tailored to the client’s needs. Our collaboration with the team at Family Hulst and 21 Group went smoothly, and the result is a restaurant that excels both technically and visually.
