At Vis Specialist Pasèl in Groningen, the largest fish store in the north of the Netherlands, everything revolves around experience. Together with Emondt KMI, we provided a lighting plan that underlines the luxurious look of the interior and shows off the fresh products to their best advantage.

Dark marble walls with golden veins, black glossy tiles and wooden fronts form the basis of this store. The lighting plan enhances those elements without being overpowering. Focused accent light makes the fresh fish offerings shine like scales in the sun, while warmer light sources create a pleasant atmosphere in the store.

Challenge

Lighting also plays a starring role in the restaurant area. Ocher yellow chairs, wooden walls and subtle decoration create a warm, accessible environment. There, with decorative pendant lights and directional spotlights on the tables, we fished out the right ambient light, precisely balanced.

Result
A special detail is the visual reference to the sea. From scaled partitions between seats to light accents on the illuminated illustrations of marine life. The mysterious marine life is literally in the spotlight. Fish Specialist Pasèl is a place where everything is right, from catch to lighting.
