Question

On the first floor of the Oranje-Nassau School the renovation has been completed. Together with Verhoef Elektrotechniek, we designed and delivered a complete lighting plan with our circular Yuugn fixtures. The goal was peace of mind, pleasant light for students and teachers, and the smallest possible footprint.

In the hallways and classrooms, slim Yuugn Evo strip grids provide uniform, low glare lighting that brightly illuminates the board as well as the work surfaces. In the restrooms, speech and technology rooms, compact Yuugn Darwin downlights were used for a high level of light without unnecessary energy. Outside, we provided ambient lighting to keep the entrance and schoolyard safe and inviting during the dark hours.

Challenge

Sustainability is not only in the energy-efficient operation, but in the entire product. The housings, which consist of 97% recycled PET, are 3D printed locally and optimized for the ceiling. With a reliable and energy-efficient LED, the luminaires achieve a long service life, keeping materials in circulation and minimizing maintenance. Thanks to the high efficiency (an excellent lumen-per-watt ratio), consumption drops noticeably while the light image is actually quieter and better.

Result

Classrooms that focus on concentration, walking routes that are logically guided, and a school that is ready for the years ahead with lighting that is as future-proof as the education it provides.
