The DIALux 13.1 update is live!

With the launch of DIALux evo 13.1, DIAL takes another step towards even more precise lighting designs. The update provides powerful tools to analyze light emissions according to applicable standards and significantly improves work within Open BIM projects. Whether you are working on an interior or exterior space, this version helps you to design faster, more accurately and smarter.

Precise evaluation of light emissions according to standards

With DIALux 13.1, you can now compare light emissions directly with the maximum values from important standards such as EN 12464-2:2014, CIE 150:2017, ÖNORM O 1052:2022, LAI 2012 and NSVV. DIALux displays these comparisons clearly and intuitively, so you can see at a glance whether your design complies.

A convenient new addition: you can set the applicable environmental zone within DIALux. This automatically includes the appropriate limit values in your calculations. Also new are special calculation surfaces for vertical illuminance and luminance, which allow you to evaluate your project in even more detail.

Immediately recognize and correct deviations

One of the smartest improvements is the automatic check for target values. DIALux 13.1 checks during design whether your plant meets the standards. Any deviations are immediately highlighted visually, so you can immediately see where you need to make adjustments.

Working in the CAD view has also been improved. You can now locate maximum values with a single click. And perhaps best of all: DIALux shows you immediately which luminaire is responsible for exceedances. With an arrow in the CAD view, the program points out the guilty spotlight or lamp, saving a lot of searching.

In addition, minimum and maximum values are now visible on all relevant calculation surfaces. The results window makes it easy to jump to the right place in the design. There is also a new function to quickly jump to a previously selected object (such as furniture, measurement points or lighting scenes), ideal for large projects where an overview is essential.

Open BIM improvements

DIALux evo 13.1 has also been further refined in Open BIM integration. IFC objects can now be saved as DIALux furniture and reused later, making planning faster and more flexible.

The search function in the project structure has been updated: found objects are now clearly displayed within their hierarchical structure, so you always know where you are in your project.

In addition, the IFC export is now fully compliant with the official IFC 2×3 TC1 standard. Among other things, this means corrected attributes and data lengths according to the standard, ensuring smooth exchange with other BIM software.

And good news: in the next update comes an even more comprehensive IFC package, which, among other things, will allow objects to be easily hidden or displayed within your projects.
