Meet The Team: Bert Verstappen
This is our Bert Verstappen, 35 years young, originally from Asten but now living in Budel-Schoot. Since late 2022 he has been a permanent part of our team as a field service mechanic. Bert is responsible for the assembly and maintenance of lighting.
No day is the same
What he enjoys most about his work is transforming a dark space into a well-lit environment. Every day he is amazed at how tremendously a space can change when the lighting is placed correctly. No day is the same for Bert. Sometimes he works alone or with colleagues on projects, while on other days he hits the road for service jobs. He drinks coffee black and in large quantities. In the office he is known as a real chatterbox, but that makes for a great atmosphere😉.
Roll up your sleeves at home as well
Because his work is already physical enough, his favorite sport consists of couch potatoes. In his free time, Bert enjoys working on projects at home. He is handy and has remodeled his entire house single-handedly. As an evening person, you can always wake him up for a spontaneous evening with friends. Bert is not really a vacationer, but when he goes, he prefers to choose cities with a rich history, such as Barcelona, Prague or Athens.
Christmas lights are also fun
Reading is not his thing, but he does enjoy watching movies. His favorites are true stories like Sully and The Wolf of Wall Street, but science fiction movies like The Matrix and Inception are also favorites. He even finished the Stargate series in one sitting (leaving work and sleep aside for now). His favorite holidays are Christmas and New Year’s because he has more time to spend with family and friends during that time. Moreover, he finds the lights and lots of food at that time very cozy.
A born lighting technician
Bert Verstappen is one of the few who actually became what he always wanted as a child: lighting technician. His life motto? “It doesn’t have to be fast, as long as it’s good.” And his advice to everyone: above all, don’t take him too seriously (except when it comes to lighting, of course 😉).
