LED lighting is the future

In the world of lighting, LED is the star of the show, and rightly so. Find out why we are so convinced of the power of LED and why it represents the future of lighting. In this article, we list the benefits of LED for you.

Saving energy with LED lighting

An investment in LED quickly pays for itself thanks to much lower energy costs. In fact, LED uses up to 10 times less energy than traditional halogen lamps. This means not only a beneficial effect on your wallet, but also on the environment.

Longer lifespan

Where traditional lighting needs regular replacement, LED shines with an impressive lifespan. An average LED bulb lasts as long as 30,000 hours, which is as much as fifteen times longer than a halogen bulb. This translates not only into a significantly longer period without replacement, but also into less waste and a reduced burden on resources.

Cool and safe

Unlike traditional incandescent or halogen bulbs, an LED bulb hardly gets hot. This makes it an ideal choice for lighting delicate fresh produce in supermarkets or butcher shops, for example. The low heat generation also provides additional safety, as the risk of fire is minimized. Check out the project of Keurslager van der Meer, where we realized less product wastage with the use of smart LED lighting.

Diversity

Whereas LED lighting in the past was known for its bright and unsociable light, thankfully that is different today. Technological advances have led to a wide range of light colors that can be created with LED. Whether you want to recreate the warm glow of a traditional incandescent bulb or set a modern mood, with LED you have every choice.

Dimmable LED lighting

LED bulbs can be dimmed in some cases, making them suitable for a variety of purposes. So you can easily create a cozy and intimate atmosphere, as well as a bright and productive environment for work or study, for example. This flexibility makes LED lighting ideal for any time and mood. Want to know more about when to use which color temperature? You can read about it in our article on color temperature and Kelvin (K).

Sustainability

The sustainable properties of LED go beyond energy savings and longer life. In fact, LED is also extremely recyclable, with as much as 75% of the bulb recyclable. Moreover, no harmful chemical materials are used in the production of LED fixtures, contributing to a cleaner and healthier living environment.   In short, LED lighting is not only a technological revolution in the world of lighting, but also a sustainable choice that brings numerous benefits. From energy savings to longer life and a range of light colors, LED continues to amaze us with its versatility and positive impact on the environment.
